Vinyl single hung windows, explained.
Vinyl single hung windows from Puro Windows are NFRC-certified PuroCima vinyl units built to your sizes and supplied factory-direct to builders across Washington, Oregon and California. Best for the workhorse window for bedrooms, bathrooms and most residential elevations.
The PuroCima single hung has a fixed top sash and a bottom sash that slides up and tilts in, so both sides of the glass can be cleaned from inside. The vinyl frame is reinforced for strength on larger openings.
It is the most economical operable window in the range and the one most builders standardise on across a plan set. With 23 certified glass packages that qualify for Washington, it has the widest choice of any line, with U-factors from 0.27 to 0.30.
Every order uses a certified glass package that meets the Washington State Energy Code (U-factor 0.30 or lower). Factory-direct, builders typically save around 35% on the window package; plan on three and a half to four months from order to site.

Single hung costs less and suits most elevations. Choose double hung where the upper sash needs to open too, for example second-floor rooms where you want ventilation at the top or easier cleaning.
